26 vehicles challaned including 14 Seizure under MV Act; 07 fined under COTPA; 04 vehicles seized for illegal mining
Mendhar, September 21, 2026:
In order to instill a sense of security amongst general public and to strengthen Police-Public relations, police teams of Sub-Division Mendhar conducted extensive foot patrolling in border areas of Tehsil Mendhar and Mankote.
The patrolling party was led by SDPO Mendhar accompanied by SHO PS Mendhar and IC PPs Mankote and Ari.
During the drive, action against visible violations was taken:
- Under MV Act – 26 vehicles challaned including seizure of 14 vehicles.
- Under COTPA – 07 persons fined for violation.
- Against illegal mining – 04 vehicles seized for illegal extraction/transportation of minerals.
During patrolling, pedestrians and commuters were also sensitized to abide by traffic rules for road discipline and public safety.
Such foot patrolling enhances sense of security and ensures effective implementation of law. Poonch Police remains committed to serve public round the clock.
