Kishtwar , A tragic road accident claimed the life of a businessman after his vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir. Moments before the fatal crash, the victim reportedly recorded a video that has now surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
According to police, the businessman was travelling through a hilly stretch when the vehicle lost control and fell into the gorge. Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing the crash and alerted emergency services. Following the businessman’s death, angry residents and family members staged a protest at the accident site. Protesters alleged that the road had been in poor condition for a long time and demanded immediate repairs, installation of safety barriers, and accountability from the concerned authorities. Traffic remained disrupted for some time as demonstrators blocked the road.
Police officials assured the protesters that a detailed investigation had been launched into the accident. They also said the road safety concerns raised by residents would be communicated to the concerned departments.
The incident has once again highlighted the need for improved road safety measures on mountainous routes in Jammu and Kashmir, where accidents caused by damaged roads and inadequate safety infrastructure continue to pose a serious risk to commuters.
