Fake Currency Printing Unit Busted in Jammu, 3 ArrestedScanner, Printer and Sharp Weapons Recovered
Jammu, September 30: In a major crackdown on the circulation and production of counterfeit currency, police have busted an alleged fake currency printing unit operating from a residential premises in the Chouadi area of Jammu. Three persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
According to police, the accused were allegedly using the house to prepare counterfeit currency notes. During the operation, the police team recovered equipment believed to have been used in the process, including a scanner and printer. Sharp-edged weapons were also seized from the premises.
Three Suspects Taken Into Custody
The arrested individuals have been taken into custody for questioning as investigators work to establish their alleged roles in the counterfeit currency network. Police are also examining whether the suspects were involved in supplying or circulating fake notes beyond the local area.
The recovery of printing and scanning equipment has prompted investigators to examine the source of the material used for preparing the counterfeit notes. Further details regarding the denominations and quantity of the suspected fake currency are expected as the investigation progresses.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a detailed investigation to identify other persons who may be connected with the alleged operation. Officials are also checking the suspects’ previous activities and possible links with other networks involved in counterfeit currency.
