Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Completes Organisational Elections in Poonch

Poonch, In line with the electoral process initiated by the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to strengthen its organizational framework and promote democracy at the grassroots level, key organizational elections were successfully conducted in Poonch district today. As part of these ongoing elections being held at every tehsil level across the Union Territory, a grand and dignified election meeting was organized at the historic Dak Bungalow in Poonch.
During the meeting, through a democratic process and unanimous consent, Shamim Ganai was re-elected as the District President of Poonch. Expressing their continued trust in his leadership, the party high command and local workers entrusted him with the district’s command once again. Party cadres highlighted that under Shamim Ganai’s leadership, the PDP has consistently raised public issues in the district.
Simultaneously, elections for Zonal Presidents across various tehsils of the district were also concluded:
- Poonch-Haveli: Sardar Kamaljeet Singh was elected as the Zonal President.
- Mendhar: Khurshid Ahmad was assigned the responsibility of Zonal President.
- Surankote: Majeed Khan was appointed as the Zonal President.

Great enthusiasm was witnessed among party workers and locals at the Dak Bungalow premises upon the election of Sardar Kamaljeet Singh as the Zonal President for Poonch-Haveli. As soon as the results were announced, the gathered public and party cadres celebrated by offering him flower garlands and extending warm congratulations.
Locals stated that Sardar Kamaljeet Singh is a dedicated, community-rooted leader, and his appointment will significantly help in effectively addressing regional grievances.
The electoral event at Dak Bungalow, Poonch, saw large-scale participation from senior party leaders, local workers, and prominent citizens of the area. Expressing gratitude to the party leadership, the newly elected office-bearers pledged to work with complete dedication to promote public welfare and deliver the party’s vision to every doorstep.
