Weather Pattern Likely to Change
Jammu and Kashmir, September 30: Weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir are expected to undergo a change, with several areas likely to experience light rainfall in the coming days. Higher-altitude regions may also witness light snowfall, according to the weather forecast.
The expected change in weather could bring cloudy skies and cooler conditions across different parts of the Union Territory. While rainfall is likely to remain light in most areas, the higher reaches may receive snowfall due to lower temperatures.
Higher Reaches May Receive Snow
The possibility of light snowfall has been indicated mainly for elevated and mountainous areas. Popular high-altitude locations and mountain passes could experience a noticeable drop in temperature if the weather system becomes active.
Residents and tourists travelling towards higher reaches have been advised to remain attentive to local weather updates. Sudden changes in mountain weather can affect visibility and road conditions.
Rain May Affect Daily Activities
In the plains and lower-lying areas, light rain and cloudy conditions may affect normal outdoor activities. Commuters could face wet roads during periods of rainfall, while drivers travelling on hilly routes may need to exercise additional caution.
The weather change is also expected to bring relief from relatively dry conditions in some areas. However, the intensity and spread of rainfall may vary from one district to another.
Authorities Monitoring the Situation
Local authorities and agencies are expected to keep a close watch on weather developments, particularly in vulnerable mountainous areas. People travelling on long-distance or hilly routes are advised to check the latest weather and road advisories before starting their journey.
With rain and snowfall possible in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir, residents and visitors are being advised to keep umbrellas and warm clothing handy as the weather pattern changes.
